Netflix doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to adapting comic books. Jupiter’s Legacy, Daybreak, Space Force, and Death Note are just a few examples of how bad Netflix is at adapting comic books.
But the first trailer for The Killer on Netflix, which was directed by David Fincher, shows that it could be a big hit if trailers didn’t lie.
The Killer, starring Michael Fassbender, is based on a series of comic books from 1998.
The Killer is based on a series of comic books from 1998 that was written by Matz (Alexis Nolent) and drawn by Luc Jacamon. It tells the story of an unnamed hitman who, after a long and very successful career of killing people on orders and making sure no one knows about it, starts to make mistakes that make him wonder if he is still sane.
And just like in the comic, the trailer shows what makes this assassin, played by Michael Fassbender of Assassin’s Creed and X-Men, so dangerous. Watch the movie’s trailer down below.
In the end, the killer gets tired of killing, and as his clients keep asking for his services, he starts to have trouble with his conscience. The Killer is another movie that Fincher and Erik Messerschmidt worked on together.
It’s another big step in their relationship, since they’ve worked together before on Mindhunter. After buying the rights to the movie, Paramount said that Fincher would be working on it.
Micheal Fassbender, who plays the unnamed killer in The Killer, hasn’t been on screen much lately because he started racing cars in 2017. His last role was as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto in the 2019 movie X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which also starred Sophie Turner as Jean Gray and James McAvoy as Professor X.
But it’s safe to say that fans still want to see him back as David, an android. Fassbender isn’t the only famous person in The Killer. Tilda Swinton, who you might remember from Marvel’s 2016 Doctor Strange, where she played The Ancient One, and Gabriel, who you might remember from 2005’s Constantine, are also in the movie.
Arliss Howard, who has been in the shows Rubicon and Manhunt, and Sophie Charlotte, who has been in the shows All the Flowers and Dark Days, are also going to be there. Also, Charles Parnell is in the movie. He was in Top Gun: Maverick, which came out in 2022.
But for now, we don’t know what their roles will be in the story. We’ll have to wait until November 10 when The Killer comes out on Netflix.
Fassbender wasn’t supposed to be in the new movie at first, which is an interesting fact. Instead, Brad Pitt was going to play the main character at one point, and his name is still on some of the first listings.
It looks like the actor’s role as a hitman in Bullet Train did him a lot of good, even though it wasn’t his first time playing a hitman. Killing Them Softly is the name of the second one.
The Killer, which is coming out soon, might break Netflix’s streak of bad movies based on comic books. Since Andrew Kevin Walker, known for Seven and Fight Club, wrote the screenplay, and David Fincher, known for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,
The Social Network, and Love, Death, and Robots, directed it, and Micheal Fassbender is in it, that’s probably the case.
